karkat sickfic headcanons:

kanaya is a wonderful mom except for when she accidentally starts talking about feferi or sollux or eridan or nepeta or equius or terezi or spades slick or bec noir or gamzee or dave or the game or the kids’ universe or anyone’s lusii. or when she sees a shadow/hears a noise that might be gamzee and leaps to her feet, chainsaw roaring.

rose is nice and perceptive and attentive and takes advantage of the fact that he can’t run away by using him for psychotherapy practice.

dave talks continuously (and pretty much unintelligibly to someone from another species and culture, but karkat assumes that dave is literally always fucking with him and it hasn’t steered him wrong yet), comes loaded with terrible ironic versions of anything karkat might need at the moment, and avoids physical contact or meaningful communication at all costs. occasionally this fails, and the two share an accidental, mutually dreaded, terribly uncomfortable instant of deep personal connection.

gamzee walks up behind him in perfect silence and honks plaintively, but also very loudly and unexpectedly. he is very soothing and comforting and karkat never has any idea what he’s thinking about. occasionally karkat finds traces of their dead teammates’ blood on gamzee, throws a massive fit, and staggers out of bed to drag him into a bath.

terezi is exactly as terezi as she always is.
